LITTLE ROCK, Ark., 2018-Nov-02 — /Travel PR News/ — The Natural State’s newest Arkansas Welcome Center, located in Harrison, will be officially dedicated on Friday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. The event is hosted by the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism (ADPT). The public is invited to attend.
As part of the Welcome Center’s recent $2.5 million upgrade, a completely new building was built in the same location as the old center. The address is still 3391 Arkansas Highway 65 N.
The facility offers visitors up-to-the minute information on attractions, regional events and weather conditions. The building amenities include computer kiosks, Wi-Fi and free coffee. The landscaped exterior also offers picnic tables for travelers looking to take a short break from the road.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will include a presentation of the colors by the Arkansas National Guard and comments by ARDOT and ADPT staff.
Thirteen Welcome Centers are located at various points of entry to the state. An additional location can be found in Little Rock, which serves as a centrally-located center for visitors.
