The Las Vegas News Bureau presents collection of color-enhanced historic Las Vegas landmarks photos from 1950-1960

New Exhibition Re-Visualizes Timeless Black and White Photos with Color

Las Vegas, 2014-03-26 — /Travel PR News/ — The Las Vegas News Bureau is presenting a unique collection of photos of historic Las Vegas landmarks that have been enhanced with vibrant colors and soft pastels. The added color offers a vivid visual interpretation of some of our favorite historic pictures from 1950-1960.

The photos were re-visualized by Brian Jones, a longtime photographer with the Las Vegas News Bureau. In “Re-Visualizing Las Vegas,” Jones has brought to life a new perspective to many of the timeless black and white images using modern techniques in Photoshop. The exhibition was curated by Kelli Luchs, Las Vegas News Bureau archivist and the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District.

For more than 65 years, the Las Vegas News Bureau has captured the sights and sounds of the world’s leading destination like no one else.  The News Bureau was created in 1947 as part of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce’s marketing efforts to promote Las Vegas as a touris destination.

The exhibit will be open during regular library hours at the following locations:
