CHICAGO, 2014-8-26 — /Travel PR News/ — Registration is open! The Chicago Department of Aviation and United Airlines are teaming up again to host the O’Hare 5K “Run On the Runway” to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. O’Hare International Airport will welcome thousands of runners, walkers and aviation enthusiasts to race on Runway 9L/27R on Sunday, October 5. 2014.
The runway was commissioned in November 2008 under the O’Hare Modernization Program. Similar runs on this runway was held in 2008 and 2012. This event is expected to sell out – so register soon.
After the race, be sure to stay for the free, outdoor community day, which will feature kids’ activities, live music, food selections from some of O’Hare’s best restaurants, the Take-Off Trot kids’ dash, and a photo (or Selfie) opportunity with a United Airlines airplane on the runway!
