The Cedar Rapids Airport Commission names Martin Lenss as the new Airport Director at The Eastern Iowa Airport

Cedar Rapids, IA, 2014-12-5 — /Travel PR News/ — The Cedar Rapids Airport Commission has named Martin Lenss as the new Airport Director at The Eastern Iowa Airport. Mr. Lenss comes to The Eastern Iowa Airport from his most recent post as Executive Director for the Rochester Airport Company (RST) in Rochester Minnesota. Prior to Rochester, Mr. Lenss served for five years as the Airport Director for the Outagamie County Regional Airport (ATW) in Appleton Wisconsin.

“I’m honored to have been selected to lead the Eastern Iowa Airport” said Lenss.  “I look forward to working with the Airport Commission, staff, and region as we continue to build upon the strong regional collaboration and success of the airport.”

Mr. Lenss brings 20 years of airport management experience to eastern Iowa. In addition to RST and ATW, Lenss has worked at Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) in Madison Wisconsin, Cheyenne Airport (CYS) in Cheyenne Wyoming, and Tulsa Airport Authority (TUL) in Tulsa Oklahoma.

He has the right mix of knowledge and expertise necessary to continue to build on our current success.”

The Eastern Iowa Airport is experiencing record passenger growth with 11 straight record months with a year-over-year increase of 9.5 percent. It is also in the middle of a 50 million dollar, 4 year terminal modernization project that will create an inviting terminal that reflect the local community.

The Eastern Iowa Airport receives no local tax dollars and is going to be debt free in 2015. It is owned by the City of Cedar Rapids and operated by the Cedar Rapids Airport Commission. There are 45 employees of the commission and it is served by 5 airlines with nonstop flights to 12 destinations, including 6 major hubs.
