Public voting opens today for nominations for the Jersey Customer Service Awards.

2012-09-04 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Jersey public has from today until the 28 September to vote for their Customer Service Heroes, giving them the opportunity to walk away with one of the coveted 2012 Customer Service Awards.

The Customer Service Awards, which are now in their second year, are being generously sponsored by HSBC and supported by the Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

The Awards aim to showcase individuals who deliver service excellence across all customer-facing sectors – from retail to hospitality, from public sector to charitable volunteers.

Nick Winsor, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man explained why the organisation was keen to be involved:

‘Good Customer Service is so important and should be at the heart of any business operation. We are all quick to complain when we receive bad service so this is the perfect chance to thank those individuals who go that extra mile. I would encourage everyone to get involved and to vote for people they have come across who really excel in this area. HSBC is delighted to support this event and I am looking forward to seeing all the nominations at the end of the month.”

Awards fall into nine categories and include for the first time this year an award for the “Humble Volunteer” who gives selflessly to the charitable sector. People can vote for as many individuals – or teams – as they wish and all shortlisted individuals, and their supporters and friends will be invited to the Awards ceremony taking place on 5 October in Royal Square.

Julie Todd of event organisers, Todd and Associates, hopes that there will be a good response:

“ Last year’s event really caught public imagination and there were hundreds of votes cast. We hope that we will get even more this year and so have made it much easier for people to vote – online, by post, or by text.”
