Swissport and the 2nd largest Russian carrier Transaero Airlines sign five year Global Framework Agreement for worldwide ground handling services

Opfikon, Switzerland, 2014-6-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Swissport International (Swissport), the world’s leading provider of ground and cargo handling services to the aviation industry, and  Transaero Airlines (Transaero), the second largest Russian carrier, announce the signing of a five year Global Framework Agreement for worldwide ground handling services. Swissport received the “Preferred Supplier” status from Transaero. Both companies are looking forward to jointly expanding their global network.

Currently Transaero Airlines offers services on 200 domestic and international routes in Russia, Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa.

Swissport and Transaero are interested in establishing a long-term global strategic relationship for ground handling services. The main focus of the “Preferred Supplier” and “Preferred Customer” cooperation lies on worldwide coverage of handling activities of Transaero business and leisure traffic, where both Transaero and Swissport will benefit from jointly expanding their global network. The signed agreement is setting the course for a cooperation based on highest quality and safety standards and top services.

Transaero is known for its focus on innovation . It was the first private airline in Russia, the first carrier in Russia and the CIS to add Boeing-made aircraft to its fleet, to introduce a frequent-flyer loyalty program in Russia, and the first Russian carrier to provide broadband Internet access onboard. Currently, Transaero is the only Russian airline to provide first Imperial class services and to offer an option of five classes of onboard service.
