(IN SHORT) Swedavia has announced an organizational change effective July 1st, merging the Project business unit with the Facilities and Systems business unit. This decision follows the retirement of Johan Bill, Director of Projects, who has made significant contributions to Swedavia’s project development at various airports. With this merger, the Facilities and Systems business unit will now oversee all of Swedavia’s projects alongside its responsibility for managing and maintaining the organization’s assets. Ali Sadeghi will lead the new organization as the Director of Facilities and Systems, while the recruitment process for a new Head of Department for Projects has begun.
(PRESS RELEASE) Stockholm, Sweden, 2024-Feb-22 — /Travel PR News/ — Swedavia is implementing an organisational change which means that as of 1 July, the Project business unit will be part of the Facilities and Systems business unit. The merger of the project and management organisations is being carried out after Johan Bill, Director of Projects, has chosen to retire and thereby leave Swedavia and Swedavia’s executive management.
“I would like to extend a big thank you to Johan Bill, who has been involved and contributed greatly to Swedavia’s successful project development at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Bromma Stockholm Airport and Göteborg Landvetter Airport, among others. The project organisation’s work has been crucial in creating the right conditions for the airports of the future and for Swedavia’s long-term competitiveness,” says Jonas Abrahamsson, Swedavia’s president and CEO.
As a result of the organisational change, the Facilities and Systems business unit will take over responsibility for all of Swedavia’s projects in parallel with the task of managing and maintaining Swedavia’s assets. The new organisation will be led by Ali Sadeghi, Director of Facilities and Systems.
“It is a natural step for Projects to become part of Facilities and Systems. With this change, Facilities and Systems will be responsible for all of Swedavia’s projects, the overall commitment for all our facilities and systems, in parallel with the strategic, tactical and operational dimensions of managing and maintaining our assets,” says Jonas Abrahamsson.
Johan Bill will leave Swedavia on 30 June 2024. The recruitment of a new Head of Department for Projects has been initiated.
