Strong Demand Secures Another Year of Qantas’ ‘Palau Paradise Express’ Connecting Brisbane to Koror
(NEWS) MASCOT, Australia, 2025-Aug-20 — /Travel PR News/ — Qantas has extended its direct Brisbane–Palau service, the ‘Palau Paradise Express,’ for another year following strong demand and record growth in Australian visitors to the Pacific island nation.
Since Qantas opened bookings in November 2024 and the route’s launch in December 2024, Palau has experienced a 113% increase in arrivals in the first half of 2025, with Australians driving much of the growth—75% of them first-time visitors. Operating weekly on a Qantas Boeing 737, the six-hour flight connects Brisbane to Koror, Palau’s capital, and offers access to the archipelago’s pristine coral reefs, UNESCO-listed Rock Islands, and world-class diving.
Qantas CEO International Cam Wallace said the renewal highlights the airline’s commitment to opening unique destinations to Australians, while Palau Visitors Authority Director Kadoi Ruluked noted the service’s positive impact on local tourism, boosting demand for experiences from sailing and diving to WWII history tours.
The extension further strengthens cultural and economic ties between the two nations while supporting Palau’s position as a rising sustainable travel destination in the Pacific.
