Steigenberger Hotel Group confers awards on Hotel Directors

2012-12-13 — /travelprnews.com/ — Elisabeth Perwanger and Thomas Nixdorf have been named as the Steigenberger Hotel Group “General Managers of the Year”. Ms. Perwanger, Director of the Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof in Vienna and Area General Manager Austria, and Mr. Nixdorf, Director of the InterCityHotel in Hanover, both received their prizes at an official ceremony staged as part of this year’s Business Conference at the Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt. Alfred Küpper, the long-serving Director of the Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt, was named “Fighter of the Year”.

“I would like to congratulate Elisabeth Perwanger, Thomas Nixdorf and Alfred Küpper on their awards. The extraordinary degree of commitment they have shown in 2012 and the ongoing success they have achieved were the crucial factors in the decision to confer this honour,” commented Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG.

South Tyrol born Elisabeth Perwanger has been working for Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts since 2004. Having started out at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, she moved to Vienna where she took over the management of the Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof. Since 2011, she has also been responsible for all Austrian Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts in her capacity as Area General Manager.

Thomas Nixdorf took on the position of Director of the InterCityHotel Hanover in 2008. In his role, he provided support for the pre-opening phase before going on to achieve a very successful placement of the hotel on the market in Hanover.

Alfred Küpper has been Director of the Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt for more than 20 years. In 2012, he took over as interim Chief Operating Officer of Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts.
