(NEWS) DALLAS. TX, 2025-Aug-19 — /Travel PR News/ — Southwest Airlines has entered the packaged vacations market with the launch of its new in-house product, Getaways by Southwest™, designed to give travelers a more convenient and stress-free way to plan trips. The offering allows customers to bundle flights with hotels, rental cars, and ground transportation while retaining the airline’s hallmark flexibility and perks.
Travelers booking through the program will continue to enjoy free checked bags, earn Rapid Rewards® points, and have the ability to cancel or change their packages without penalty fees, receiving travel credits valid for 18 months. According to Phil Gouel, Vice President of Product Development at Southwest Airlines, the new initiative extends the airline’s signature customer-focused service into full vacation experiences.
The first destinations available through Getaways include Las Vegas, Orlando, Hawaii, Cancun, Punta Cana, and Montego Bay, with additional promotions and destination content shared through its dedicated Instagram channel.
By introducing this new product, Southwest aims to enhance customer loyalty and position itself competitively in the travel and hospitality market while leveraging its reputation for affordable, flexible, and service-driven air travel.
