Southwest Airlines Appoints Rakesh Gangwal to Board of Directors

Gangwal, co-founder of IndiGo and former CEO of US Airways Group, brings extensive airline industry experience to the board, effective immediately.

Gangwal’s career includes key leadership roles at major airlines and technology service providers in the travel industry. Before co-founding IndiGo, India’s largest airline by fleet size and passengers carried, he served as Chairman, President, and CEO of Worldspan Technologies, as well as President and CEO of US Airways Group. He has also held executive positions at Air France and United Airlines.
