Key Changes and New Roles:

  • Ryan Green Appointed Executive Vice President Commercial Transformation: Green will lead transformative initiatives, including the shift from an open seating model to assigned seating. Reporting to CEO Bob Jordan, Green will focus on design and delivery of these changes, stepping away from his current role to dedicate full-time to this mission. Tony Roach, Senior VP & Chief Customer Officer, will now report to COO Andrew Watterson.
  • Creation of Senior Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer Position: This new role, reporting to Watterson, will concentrate on day-to-day revenue production and adapting to new revenue management tools. Three functions will align under this role:
    • Revenue Management: Led by VP Matt Louis.
    • Pricing: A newly created VP role to enhance pricing capabilities.
    • Southwest Business: Led by a VP Sales, focusing on corporate sales strategies.
  • Promotions and Shifts in Focus:
    • Jonathan Clarkson Promoted to VP & Chief Product Officer: Clarkson will drive new revenue streams and manage the loyalty program and seating evolution, collaborating with Green.
    • Jeff Jones, VP Technology—Airline Products: Will now focus on revenue-generating initiatives.
    • Lu Troung Joins as VP Technology—Customer & Digital: Troung will lead digital and customer technology teams, bringing extensive experience from roles at Credera Consulting, Globant, and previous leadership at Southwest Airlines.
  • Additional Organizational Updates:
    • Adam Carlisle, VP Labor: Will report to EVP Operations Justin Jones.
    • Dave Hunt Promoted to VP Safety & Security: Hunt will oversee the Safety & Security Department as Scott Halfmann transitions to an Executive Advisor role after 36 years with the company.
    • Creation of VP Crew Planning & Analytics Role: Reporting to Senior VP Air Operations Alan Kasher, this role will enhance operational efficiencies and optimize crew scheduling.
