Actors and musicians boost exposure in series of media trips to BC, Alberta and Quebec.

2012-08-22 — /travelprnews.com/ — The South Korea office of the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has taken to the airwaves to improve awareness of Canada. A series of media trips, which were covered on TV, through social media and in print, has injected a new wave of enthusiasm for the richness and diversity of travel in this country.

First out of the blocks was famous singer-songwriter Lee Juck. CTC partnered with Tourisme Québec to bring Lee and a member of the Korea JoongAng Daily, the English-version of one of the top three newspapers in South Korea, to the province. Not surprisingly, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal was high on his to-do list and the Signature Experiences Collection® (SEC) member did not disappoint.

Lee shared his Canadian travel experiences via Twitter, which also included a visit to the Festival d’été de Québec for more music and a chance to sample Québec City’s unique food and culture.

Actor Oh Zio, aka Mr. Calgary Stampede, headed to CalgaryAB, in July to catch the Stampede’s closing ceremony along with reps from QTV and Men’s Health mag. He got right into the spirit of the Centennial before heading into the Rockies for more cowboy adventures such as staying on a ranch, horseback riding and a helicopter ride.

Zio’s visit caught the attention of local media and was covered by the Calgary HeraldCTC-South Koreapartnered with Travel Alberta and the Calgary Stampede for the trip, which was also captured on CTC-South Korea’s Facebook page.

Completing the hat-trick of trips, four hot male South Korea actors and fashion models are making their way to British Columbia in August for a camping expedition. Their nine-day trip under canvas takes them to WhistlerBC, before a short hop across the water to Vancouver Island. Camping is a growing trend in South Korea and the expedition will be converted into two 60-minute episodes on XTM TV. CTC teamed up with Tourism British Columbia to bring the celebs and the rest of the 24-strong entourage to the province.
