South African Airways honored with two awards at the World Travel Awards™; named Africa’s Leading Airline for 21 years in row

Airline receives more awards, inflight magazine, Sawubona, voted top of class

SEYCHELLES, 2015-6-25 — /Travel PR News/ — South African Airways (SAA), the leading airline on the African continent, this weekend continued its winning streak by receiving two awards at the World Travel Awards™, where it was named Africa’s Leading Airline for 21 years in row

Besides the award as Africa’s Leading Airline, SAA’s inflight magazine, Sawubona was awarded as Africa’s leading in-flight magazine.

SAA’s low-cost carrier, Mango, was named Africa’s Leading Low-Cost Airline.

World Travel Awards™ is voted for by travel and tourism professionals worldwide, with awards presented this year at a gala ceremony at the Kempinski Seychelles Resort.

“These awards add to the recent slew of other awards we’ve received and recognises that South African Airways is committed to excellence,” says Nico Bezuidenhout, SAA Acting CEO.

Ingrid Wood, editor of Sawubona, a high-end, glossy publication said on receiving the award: “We are super thrilled with this accolade which we dedicate to the creative and hard-working teams at Ndalo Media and SAA Group Corporate Affairs responsible for putting the magazine together.”

Sawubona, the airline’s in-flight magazine, has informed and entertained travellers for almost two decades with news and information on the airline and the destinations it serves.

In the category for in-flight magazines, Sawubona competed with inflight magazines from across the world.

The latest World Travel Awards™ add to the SAA Group’s recent feat at the Paris Airshow where SAA walked off with no less than three Skytrax awards:

The airline was named as Best Airline Africa for the thirteenth consecutive year. Feedback from SAA’s customers also ensured that SAA walked away with the Best Airline Staff Service Africa award for the fourth time.

Mango, SAA’s low-cost carrier, received the award for Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa.
