Sofia, Bulgaria, 2014-3-5 — /Travel PR News/ — Sofia Airport and airline easyJet organized a mutual operation for the holiday “Grandmother Marta”. In accordance to the Bulgarian tradition, the departing and arriving passengers of the two terminals of the capital airport received martenitsi with wishes for health, success and a pleasant flight.
The students from the capital 140 SOU “Ivan Bogorov”, dressed in traditional clothing, gave away 100 martenitsi made by them on Terminal 2. The travelers towards various destinations were pleasantly surprised with one of the most emotional traditional Bulgarian symbols. The students explained to the foreigners the reason behind the tradition and brought liveliness and a good mood to the passengers.
Airline company easyJet who has regular flights from Sofia to London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester and Berlin helped with the yearly tradition of the capital airport and gave away above 2000 martenitsi on both terminals.
After the end of the operation, every student received a certificate from Sofia Airport for being an active part of spreading the Bulgarian traditions.
On the 1st celebratory march day it is expected for more than 10 000 passengers to go through both terminals of the capital airport.
