Skybus Expands Summer Service at Cornwall Airport Newquay, Offering Increased Flights and Connectivity for 2025 Season

(PRESS RELEASE) Cornwall, England, 2025-Feb-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Skybus, the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group’s airline, is significantly enhancing its service offerings at Cornwall Airport Newquay for the summer season of 2025, with exciting new developments. Starting on 31st March, flights between Cornwall Airport Newquay and St Mary’s Airport in the Isles of Scilly will resume for the 32nd season, after a winter hiatus. The airline will increase its weekly flights from three to two daily flights (Monday to Saturday) starting 12th May, offering passengers morning and afternoon departures. From 1st July, the schedule will expand further with a third daily lunchtime flight added to the mix.

Skybus expects to accommodate a remarkable surge in passengers, with an anticipated seven-fold increase in the number of travelers this summer. The expanded schedule not only boosts convenience for passengers but also facilitates seamless connections via Cornwall Airport Newquay to major destinations across the UK, such as London, Manchester, and Edinburgh. Skybus has been operating from Cornwall Airport Newquay since June 1992, making it the airport’s longest-serving airline, with almost 400,000 passengers flown and over 40,000 flights completed to and from the Isles of Scilly.

The 30-minute flights between Newquay and St Mary’s will be operated by the airline’s fleet of four 17-seat DHC6 Twin Otter aircraft. Skybus’ Managing Director, Jonathan Hinkles, emphasized the importance of this expansion for the airline and the communities it serves, noting the added connectivity, increased seating capacity, and greater convenience for customers. Amy Smith, Head of Commercial at Cornwall Airport Newquay, shared her excitement for the expansion, underscoring the airport’s role as a crucial gateway for the Isles of Scilly and the strong partnership with Skybus.

Alongside the new flights to and from Newquay, Skybus continues to operate up to nine daily flights between Land’s End and the Isles of Scilly and up to three daily services to and from Exeter. Passengers can book all routes through the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company website. Additionally, each Skybus flight is met by a dedicated shuttle bus service to transport passengers around the island and to the harbor for onward boat transfers.

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company, established in 1920, continues to serve as a vital transport link to the Isles of Scilly, including the Skybus fixed-wing service.
