Project will facilitate the first-ever deployment of Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) in North America
Toronto, Canada, 2018-Oct-02 — /Travel PR News/ — SITA, the air transport industry’s technology provider, today (01 October 2018) announced that it is delivering an airport collaborative decision making (A-CDM) solution for Toronto Pearson International Airport, in partnership with Wipro Limited, a leading global information technology, consulting and business process services company. The system, which will help to drive major efficiencies through enhanced real-time information sharing between airport stakeholders, is the first such deployment at an airport in North America.
The leading-edge solution incorporates SITA’s innovative patented technology, SITA Airport Management Solution, and leverages Wipro’s airport technology and delivery expertise to run complete operations. The solution will allow the airport, its airlines and their ground handlers, and air traffic management partners to share data in real-time for rapid and efficient decision making. This will result in improved turnaround times, optimized use of airport infrastructure and an improved passenger experience, on the whole.
Toronto Pearson is Canada’s busiest airport, with over 47 million passengers and 465,000 aircraft movements in 2017. Since 2016, Wipro has been the strategic IT and business transformation partner of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA), which operates Toronto Pearson. The company is also a strategic technology partner to three of the top ASQ ranked airports in the world.
The GTAA aims to begin testing the A-CDM solution during daily operations by November 2018.
