Moscow, Russia, 2019-Aug-29 — /Travel PR News/ — September 1, 2019 Sheremetyevo International Airport launches the third runway (RWY-3). The official event will be held with the participation of the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation E.I. Dietrich, the Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency A.V. Neradko, Governor of the Moscow Region A.Y. Vorobyov, General Director of JSC “SIA” M.M. Vasilenko, the leadership of specialized organizations and airlines.
The event will take place on the new runway. Participants and guests will witness the departure of the first Aeroflot flight on the Moscow-St. Petersburg route from RWY-3.
Television groups will be given the opportunity to shoot media-material at the airport.
It is particularly noteworthy that 60 years ago, on August 11, 1959, at 9.45 Moscow time, the first flight landed at the Sheremetyevo airfield (formerly the central airfield of the USSR Air Force).
