Moscow, Russia, 2014-1-17 — /travelprnews.com/ — According to a decree issued by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, several changes now apply to the rules of pre-flight and post-flight inspection as of January 11, 2013.
One of them prohibits the transportation of all kinds of liquids in carry-on luggage for flights departing from airports located in the Russian Federation. This measure is aimed at ensuring the protection of civil aviation facilities against unlawful acts during the run-up and hosting of the 2014 XXII Winter Olympics and XI Winter Paralympics in Sochi.
Passengers undergoing pre-flight inspection are now prohibited from carrying any types of vessels (containers, tubes, etc.) containing liquids, including those smaller than 100 ml. The only exceptions are for medicine, special dietary requirements and baby foods, including breast milk in the amount needed for the duration of the flight, provided their proper identification. The new rules do not apply to goods bought in the ’clear’ zone, which includes duty free shops.
Thanks for your understanding of changes to the procedures for passenger inspection by aviation security service staff.
