Shaun Rankin to Leave Bohemia After Nine Years

2012-10-1 — /travelprnews.com/ — Jersey celebrity chef, Shaun Rankin, will leave his post as Head Chef of Bohemia, at the end of 2012, to set up independently.

After nine years at the helm of the Michelin starred restaurant he is now moving on to follow his own aspirations under his SR brand. Shaun will leave Bohemia at the end of 2012, until that time he will remain totally dedicated to Bohemia to ensure diners enjoy a great winter season at the restaurant including Christmas. In 2013 his concentration will then turn to further UK TV appearances and looking towards a new culinary venture of his own.

Shaun started at Bohemia from its launch in 2003 and the restaurant has become renowned internationally. Not long after opening, Bohemia was awarded a Michelin Star in January 2005 and named one of the top 25 restaurants in the UK by Egon Ronay.

Bohemia Bar and Restaurant Owner, Lawrence Huggler, says:

‘Bohemia with Head Chef Shaun Rankin led a renaissance of fine dining in Jersey, gaining the only Michelin Star in Jersey 18 months after launching and a couple of years later becoming the first 4 AA Rosette restaurant ever in the Channel Islands. We wish Shaun every success in the future with his exciting new projects and we have very much enjoyed working together over nine fantastic years. I am looking forward to announcing shortly with whom and how we will be raising the bar once more for fine dining in Jersey at Bohemia in 2013.’

Shaun Rankin added:

‘It’s been an amazing nine years at Bohemia and I’ve been privileged to work with a dedicated and hard working team throughout. However, it’s been a landmark year for the SR brand and it’s time for me to move forward to new opportunities. I will remain dedicated to the Channel Islands and I have great aspirations for my culinary future here. I will also be extending my UK TV appearances. I am very excited about the future and I want to thank everybody who has supported me – watch this space!’
