Shannon Airport Welcomes the Return of the Clare Garda Youth Awards Honouring Young Changemakers

(NEWS) SHANNON, Ireland, 2026-Feb-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Shannon Airport hosted the launch of the 2026 Clare Garda Youth Awards, marking the start of this year’s search for young people across County Clare whose actions are making a positive difference in their communities. Organised by An Garda Síochána in partnership with The Shannon Airport Group, the initiative recognises young changemakers aged 13 to 21 whose efforts demonstrate leadership, resilience, and community spirit.

As outlined by the organisers, the awards honour a wide range of contributions, from volunteer work and youth-led projects to personal achievements and initiatives that promote community safety. Both individuals and groups are eligible, and nominations can be submitted by anyone who wishes to highlight the positive impact of a young person’s work, including teachers, family members, and local residents.

The Clare Garda Youth Awards have become an established annual initiative celebrating the achievements of young people across the county. Previous editions have recognised individuals and youth organisations whose work has strengthened local communities, with some Clare recipients later receiving recognition at the National Garda Youth Awards.

Nominations for the 2026 awards are open until March 23, with organisers encouraging community participation in identifying young people whose contributions might otherwise go unnoticed. Winners will be announced at a ceremony scheduled for May 19 at Hotel Woodstock in Ennis, continuing a tradition that has been supported by The Shannon Airport Group since 2015.

The programme reflects a broader commitment to encouraging positive youth engagement and highlighting the role young people play in shaping the future of County Clare, while also reinforcing Shannon Airport’s connection to the communities it serves.
