Mayor Edwin M. Lee to Join Airport Director and SFFD Chief to Formally Open Facility

SAN FRANCISCO, 2012-08-09 — /travelprnews.com/ — Mayor Edwin M. Lee will join Airport Director John L. Martin and San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White to formally open SFO’s new Marine Emergency Response Facility, the first of its kind for any Airport on the West Coast.

WHAT: Formal opening of SFO’s Marine Emergency Response Facility, an over-the-water facility to store marine rescue vehicles and patrol craft, and provide a command center for the immediate launching and recovery of vessels responding to emergency situations and incidents on San Francisco Bay near the Airport.  Rescue craft include: 44-foot Moose boat, 27-foot Boston whaler, 18-foot Zodiac, and two jet skis.

WHEN: Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.

WHERE: SFO’s Marine Emergency Response Facility
1030 North Access Road
San Francisco International Airport
(North Access Road is accessible at the US-101/I-380 interchange.  Follow the signs to the Coast Guard Air Station.  The Marine Emergency Response Facility is located just past the Coast Guard Air Station.)
