2013-05-29 — /travelprnews.com/ — Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, today (29 May) announced its support for the charity single “Drive Her On”, released in memory of Captain Eamon Wall, a Ryanair pilot who sadly passed away in January. The song was written by Captain Wall’s close friend and colleague, Captain Sean Kelly, Ryanair’s Base Captain at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, and will be available on the Ryanair.com website for the month of June.
The proceeds from the sale of the single will be donated, at the request of Captain Wall’s family, to the Carlow Kilkenny Home Care Team, a voluntary organisation who looked after Captain Wall in his last days and weeks. The care team offer specialist care to cancer patients and their families by providing full-time palliative care nurses, and depend mainly on donations to maintain its service.

“Ryanair is delighted to support the charity single “Drive Her On”, released in memory of Ryanair Captain, Eamon Wall, who sadly passed away in January and written by our Glasgow Prestwick Base Captain, Sean Kelly, to capture the essence of his close friend and colleague. The song will be available to download via the Ryanair.com website for the month of June and all proceeds will be donated to the Carlow Kilkenny Home Care Team, a voluntary organisation which provides cancer patients and their families with much-needed specialist care.”
Ryanair Prestwick Base Captain, Sean Kelly said:
“I had the pleasure of both playing music and flying with Eamon and witnessed at first hand his sublime talent for both. His passing has left a huge hole in the lives of his family, friends and colleagues. When he passed away, we had a night in Scotland for all those who couldn’t make his funeral. On that night I played “Drive Her On”, a song I had written about Eamon that seemed to capture his spirit. It went down so well that we decided to release it as a charity single.”
