2012-09-04 — /travelprnews.com/ — O.R. Tambo International would like to advise airport users of road works on the Upper Roadway at the International Departures Level. The construction, which is in line with our safety and operational regulation, will be undertaken from Monday, 03 September 2012 and is scheduled for completion in the second week of December 2012.
The remedial work is as a result of the failing road surface finish to the Upper Roadway which is currently deteriorating and needs to be replaced. The construction will also include waterproofing to the area.
Whilst we do not anticipate major disruptions during this period, we would like to encourage motorists who will be utilising the Upper Roadway to drop off passengers, to allow sufficient time to arrive at the airport in order to avoid further inconvenience.
Signage will be in place to inform road users of the road works. The airports management would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers and stakeholders for the co-operation and sincerely apologize in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused.
