2013-07-10 — /travelprnews.com/ — UAE’s RAK Airways is one of the youngest national carriers of the United Arab Emirates and the airline has attracted over 64,000 fans over the past one year. Social media interaction is the highest customer service platform applied by RAK Airways to consistently interact with its passengers.

On May 8, 2013, at a colourful ceremony in Burj Al Arab, RAK Airways was awarded the ‘Best Strategic Facebook Award’ by Pan Arab Web and Social Media Awards at the 10th Pan Arab Web Awards.

Speaking of the proud moment, H.E. Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation and Vice-Chairman of RAK Airways says, ‘ RAK Airways is strategically extending its route map and social media is the best platform to interact with our passengers globally. My team has worked very hard for this moment and this is just the beginning’.

’2013 is a promising year for the airline and touching the pulse of our customers through the most efficient consumer platform – face book – is integral’, said Sheikh Salem.

RAK Airways flies out of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and presently flies to 9 destinations. In 2012 the airline flew 300,000 passengers throughout its network.

The airline has a ambitious plan of launching 35 destinations by 2015.
