Brussels, Belgium, 2014-12-12 — /Travel PR News/ — Radisson Blu, one of the world’s leading hotel brands, sponsored UNICEF”s #StopEbola charity dinner in Brussels. The charity event, organized by Think Young and Burson-Marsteller, raised over €7,000 for UNICEF’s fight against the epidemic of the Ebola Virus Disease.
Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts, together with Facebook, IBM, Intel and EFRA, supported this event to raise awareness on the deadly disease and recognise the countless heroes who are on the front-line every day.
On the evening, Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts auctioned hotel room stays at Radisson Blu Bosphorus Hotel, Istanbul; Radisson Blu Resort & Thalasso, Djerba; and five copies of the SHE book (a collection of truly extraordinary photographs showing the unique dignity, strength and grace of African women). Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts all together raised almost €3,000 from the €7,000 collected on the evening.
In Sierra Leone, Nuno Neves, General Manager of Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel in Freetown, and his team are dealing with the realities of Ebola on a daily basis. Their response is widely recognised – also by former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair who stayed recently in the hotel. Safety & Security are always of the highest priority, and with their ‘Always Care’ attitude, all employees take responsibility to ensure the safety and security of guests and staff.
“Responsible Business is an integral part of our corporate purpose and business strategy. We are extremely proud to have colleagues like Nuno Neves, who have contributed, reached out and made a difference in those communities that are affected by the Ebola Virus Disease,” said Eric De Neef, Chief Commercial Officer of The Rezidor Hotel Group. “We want to actively participate in the advancement of the local communities we work in – this is how we can truly make a difference as an international hotel operator”, ended De Neef.
