The festival brought some spectacular performance from all participants together with some of the world’s finest thoroughbred and Arabian horses who competed for the esteemed H.H. the Amir Sword title.
Qatar Airways cabin crew were present at the Main Draw on 20 February at Qatar National Museum and presented the winners’ trophies at the award ceremonies on the following days. The event was free for everyone who wished to attend and enjoy the thrilling races.

More than 25 horses from all over the world were flown to Doha on board Qatar Airways Cargo freighters via the carrier’s QR Live services. The cargo carrier provides world-class service for the transportation of horses on board its modern fleet of Boeing 747-8, Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 freighters, with controlled temperature zones, comfortable and spacious horse stalls, and seats for grooms on board the freighters. The animals are well looked after on the ground as well to ensure the finest comfort and welfare throughout their entire journey. The state-of-the-art Live Animal Centre at Hamad International Airport offers a spacious 4,200 square metre air-conditioned live animal facility with special features including dedicated holding areas for various animals, horse stalls, 24/7 dedicated expert animal health care services, as well as a walking yard and paddock.
Qatar Airways will host the upcoming first edition of the Qatar Airways International Football Tournament, which will see top National teams compete. The roster for the tournament includes Belgium, Croatia, Portugal and Switzerland. The airline is also proud to sponsor premier sporting clubs around the world, including leading German football team FC Bayern München AG, Italian football club AS Roma, France’s most successful football club Paris Saint-Germain and Argentinian club Boca Juniors. In addition, Qatar Airways is the official airline sponsor of CONMEBOL professional football competitions across South America, including the Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores, Copa CONMEBOL Sudamericana and the CONMEBOL Recopa.
