This new route will add over 40,000 seats per year to the airline’s US services. The three-times weekly service will be operated using an Airbus A330, complementing existing flights from Sydney to Honolulu offered by both Qantas and Jetstar.
In conjunction with the launch of the new service, Jetstar will discontinue its twice-weekly Melbourne to Honolulu Dreamliner 787 flights from April 30, 2025, with the aircraft being reassigned to other long-haul routes.
To celebrate the announcement, Qantas has launched a “Red Tail Sale” with 50,000 discounted seats available across North and South America. Economy fares start from $1,049 return for flights between Melbourne and Honolulu, with deals available on 30 routes, including Sydney to Los Angeles and Brisbane to Vancouver.
Qantas’ new sale fares include checked baggage, food, beverages, and seat selection, with travel periods running between October 2024 and June 2025.
