Palm Springs Host City for International Reality Show

Palm Springs, CA, 2012-08-31 — /travelprnews.com/ — The City of Palm Springs has been selected as the premier destination for the 9th season of  “Occupation Double,”  the #1 reality television series in Montreal, Quebec, Canada – broadcast on TVA network, the largest French-Canadian network in North America. The show’s crew and cast recently arrived in Palm Springs and have started the show’s production, and will remain in the Palm Springs until November.

“Occupation Double” is a French-Canadian reality television show featuring seven single men and seven single women looking for love and romance.  Each group will reside [separately] in two architecturally-significant luxury homes in Palm Springs, where 46 cameras will capture their words and actions, 24/7.

“We are extremely honored to be the host destination for this show, especially since we have many Canadian visitors and residents,” said Mary Jo Ginther, Director of Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism. “Viewers of the show are going to love this year’s season as there are many surprises, amazing getaways and incredible experiences.”

Over the course of the season, the cast will experience the unique and iconic activities in the City of Palm Springs, and will live like a local while dining and shopping along Palm Canyon Drive. As part of the show, cast members are also whisked away on romantic dates and go on wild adventures throughout California as well as exotic destinations around the world!

“Occupation Double” televises 2.5 hours of original programming over three days every week capturing in excess of 40% of the viewing audience (1.5 to 2 million viewers each week).  The show has been produced outside of Quebec over the last four seasons in the Dominican Republic in 2009, British Columbia in 2010 and Portugal in 2011 . . . and, its 2012 season in Palm Springs, California.

In the world of film and television, Palm Springs has been Hollywood‘s back lot since the 1930s, and continues to gain attention across the globe because of its film-friendly locations, services and processes.
