BERLIN, 2014-12-23 — /Travel PR News/ — Available now, Germany’s second-largest airline has posted an update to its iPhone app in the Apple Store. Over 1 million users have already installed the airberlin iPhone app on their smartphones. ‘We are taking our mobile travel companion to another level. Over recent weeks we have analysed the feedback our users provided to improve the app features and navigation, in particular. As things stand, one in four airberlin passengers use our mobile services in the form of our app or the mobile boarding pass,’ says André Rahn, senior vice president of marketing at airberlin. Each month passengers use the iPhone app over 100,000 times to check in, a number that will almost inevitably increase. Even now, roughly one third of airberlin passengers use the mobile app to complete the check-in procedure.
airberlin iPhone app users can log on to the system and manage their bookings with their topbonus frequent flyer profile. The app lets passengers complete check-in from 30 hours before departure and saves the mobile boarding pass either in the app or in Passbook. Additionally, it provides information on boarding and flight times, also the departure gate number and weather data at the destination.
