Oslo Airport, 2013-02-13 — /travelprnews.com/ — For the 33rd month in a row, Oslo Airport has seen its passenger numbers rise compared with the previous year. In January 2013, 1,523,297 passengers travelled through Oslo Airport, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%. The number of international passengers rose 3.3%, while domestic traffic decreased by 0.7%.
Aircraft movements in January totalled 17,641, up 0.8% from January 2012.Among the ten largest routes, Oslo-Las Palmas noted the highest growth rate, increasing by more than 20%.
While Trondheim and Bergen remain the top two domestic destinations, Tromsø and Stavanger continue to perform strongly, growing by 4.3% and 2%, respectively.
“Oslo Airport is pleased to see this positive trend continue. Norwegians love to travel, and this year it seems that many have treated themselves to a holiday in the sun while winter at home is at its coldest,” says Vegar Gystad, head of media relations at Oslo Airport.
