CHICAGO, 2015-11-2 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is pleased to announce that several members of its Safety and Security Section, as well as some of its airport security partners at O’Hare and Midway International Airports, are recipients of 9/11 Medals from the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police (INTERPORTPOLICE).
The awards are presented to “officers and officials who serve each and every day fighting terrorism and serious crime across the globe in order to make the world a safer place” according to INTERPORTPOLICE – an organization established in 1969 by global law enforcement and public safety agencies from Canada, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and United States.
The presentation of the medals was held on Friday, October 23, 2015, in conjunction with the International Association of Chief of Police (IACP) conference atMcCormick Place in Chicago.
“The Chicago Department of Aviation is very proud of its Safety and Security Teams at O’Hare and Midway,” said CDA CommissionerGinger S. Evans. “We congratulate our staff, as well as members of the Chicago Police Department, Transportation Security Administration and Federal Bureau of Investigation for their outstanding work at police and public safety operations at Chicago’s airports.”
