Odense in southern Denmark has won the bid to host the 47th ICCC – International Conference on Coordination Chemistry ahead of congress cities such as Vienna, Paris, and Moscow.

Copenhagen, Denmark, 2016-Nov-30 — /Travel PR News/ — Thanks to Professor Christine McKenzie at University of Southern Denmark (SDU), some 1,500 international chemical scientists will be heading to the popular congress city Odense on Funen in 2024. Odense won the bid to host the 47th ICCC – International Conference on Coordination Chemistry ahead of cities like Vienna, Paris, and Moscow.

Christine McKenzie managed to attract a huge international conference to her native city and, more specifically, to the brand new Odeon Conference Center opening in 2017, which in 2024 will be the gathering point for some 1,500 chemical scientists from across the world meeting up for the 47th International Conference on Coordination Chemistry (ICCC).

McKenzie won’t take all the credit for attracting the conference, however, although she initiated the bid, created a conference bidding team of 4 scientists, and is a household name, acknowledged globally for more than 140 published articles and papers.

McKenzie and Odense won the conference at the ICCC’s latest conference in Brest, France. There the  organisers had to close registration at 1,500 pax and base don’t this, McKenzie therefore estimates, that the number of delegates in Odense in 2024 will be somewhere between 1,200-1,700 with more than 98 per cent of the delegates coming from abroad.

The ICCC will take place between 30th June and 5th July 2024.
