(PRESS RELEASE) Oakland, Calif., 2024-Dec-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Oakland International Airport (OAK) is preparing to welcome over 500,000 passengers during the holiday travel season, spanning from Friday, December 20, to Monday, January 6. The busiest days are anticipated to be Friday, December 20, and Friday, December 27. Travelers passing through OAK’s terminals will enjoy festive decorations, live music, and a complimentary gift-wrapping station to enhance their holiday experience.
“Our terminals are brimming with holiday cheer, and we’re excited to welcome travelers as they embark on their festive journeys,” said Craig Simon, Port of Oakland Director of Aviation. “With live performances by local musicians and the return of our popular gift-wrapping station, we aim to make the season extra special for our passengers.”
The gift-wrapping station will be available post-security in the connector between Terminals 1 and 2 on December 19, 20, and 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Passengers are reminded not to travel with pre-wrapped gifts, as security screening may require them to be opened. Local musicians will perform holiday-themed sets through January 3 in the terminal connector area as part of OAK’s Tunes in the Terminal program. Musicians interested in joining can find more information on the airport’s website.

Travelers can visit OAK’s parking page for updates and to secure a spot.
New dining options at OAK this year include Cancun Sabor Mexicano and A16 Pizza, both located in Terminal 1. Renovation work on Terminal 1’s check-in counters and restrooms will continue through the holiday season, with minimal disruption to passengers.
