Facts about the 787 Dreamliner
The 787 Dreamliner will reduce the company’s costs and enable Norwegian to offer competitive airfare. Not least, the Dreamliner is the most environmentally friendly option available today, with 20 percent less emissions than comparable aircraft. In addition to these operational benefits, the aircraft features a number of innovations that will benefit the passengers. The cabin is pressurized at a lower level, making the air more similar to ground level, reducing the typical “jet lag” – symptoms such as headaches and muscle pain. The humidity will be higher, reducing the symptoms of dry eyes and dry skin. The aircraft is fitted with the Dreamliner interior which passengers have already enjoyed on many of Norwegian’s newest Boeing 737-800s.
Norwegian currently has eight 787 Dreamliners on order, three of which will be delivered in 2013, four in 2014 and one in 2015.
Norwegian has signed an agreement to lease two Airbus A340-300 long-haul aircraft that will be used on intercontinental flights until the Dreamliner enters service.
