(PRESS RELEASE) BANGKOK, Thailand, 2026-Feb-24 — /Travel PR News/ — The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with DevelopmentAid, a global information service provider headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the tourism industry and the international development community. The agreement is designed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and encourage closer collaboration across sectors, creating new opportunities for members of both organizations.

Through the partnership, tourism stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region will gain improved access to global development insights and funding intelligence. The collaboration is expected to support stronger partnerships and enable organizations to identify financing opportunities while advancing sustainable tourism initiatives.

PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid highlighted that the agreement expands the resources available to the association’s membership and encourages deeper engagement with the development sector. By making use of DevelopmentAid’s global intelligence and information services, PATA aims to help its members discover funding channels, build strategic alliances, and reinforce the role of knowledge-sharing in sustainable development efforts.

Mariana Uzun, Head of Department Strategic Partnerships and Donors Relations at DevelopmentAid, noted that the cooperation will broaden the company’s engagement with tourism organizations across the Asia-Pacific region. By combining DevelopmentAid’s data-driven market intelligence with PATA’s extensive regional network, the partnership seeks to improve decision-making, strengthen cooperation, and support sustainable projects that benefit destinations and local communities.

Under the terms of the agreement, DevelopmentAid becomes an Affiliate Partner of PATA and will work jointly with the association on several initiatives. These include collaborative research projects, development of resources to assist PATA members in securing development funding, and training activities such as webinars focused on fundraising strategies, tendering processes, and project management practices. The partners will also support each other through joint promotional and advocacy activities.

As part of the collaboration, PATA members will receive one month of free access to the DevelopmentAid platform, a ten percent discount on first-time subscriptions, and the opportunity to use the Call4Partners matchmaking service to identify suitable project partners at both local and international levels.
