New destinations bring eggstra special start to the Easter getaway at JLA

2013-03-28 — /travelprnews.com/ — With the first Bank Holiday period of the year this weekend, staff at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) are gearing up for a busy couple of weeks with both the great Easter holiday getaway and the start of the airlines’ summer schedules.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is forecasting a possible 10% increase in passenger throughput over the holiday period compared to recent weeks, bringing JLA its busiest period of the year so far.

Over 200,000 passengers are expected to pass through the Airport during the two week Easter School holiday period as passengers take the opportunity to fly between Liverpool and a host of destinations across Europe. However, this year Easter coincides with the start of the Summer schedules for airlines and brings a number of new services that will operate from Liverpool, some for the first time.

Ryanair announced late last year that they will be adding new services for Summer 2013 and on Easter Sunday will start flights to Malta from Liverpool, followed on Easter Bank Holiday Monday with their first flights to Lublin in Poland and to Zadar in Croatia.

With the weather locally remaining distinctly wintery, popular routes over the holiday period are expected to be the wide choice of warmer Mediterranean resorts, whilst City break destinations are likely to be popular too. Flights available from Liverpool are served by Ryanair, easyjet, Wizz Air and Flybe, with new airline Norwegian commencing their service to Copenhagen later in the Easter holiday.

As ever, Airport Management are keen to get the message across to anyone departing from the Airport in the coming days, to allow plenty of time to pass through the terminal, as it is expected to be busy at peak times.
