Former Seinfeld Star Delivers Comic Portrayal of “The Control Enthusiast” Business Traveler
ST. LOUIS, 2014-11-24 — /Travel PR News/ — National Car Rental will unveil three new television commercials featuring actor Patrick Warburton as part of its “Go Like A Pro” advertising campaign. National is launching the 30-second spots to showcase its commitment to providing time-sensitive frequent airport travelers with unmatched control throughout their rental experience.
“Anyone who travels knows there are very few things you have control over throughout the course of a trip. So we’re taking a humorous approach with these spots, in which Patrick Warburton plays a ‘control enthusiast’ – the ultimate business traveler who likes to be in charge at all times,” said Rob Connors, assistant vice president of brand marketing at National Car Rental. “Our ‘Go Like A Pro’ campaign demonstrates to business travelers the unique way National and the Emerald Club put them in control of their rental by offering the efficiency they want and the ability to choose their vehicle and get on the road quickly.”
Warburton is best known for his role as Elaine’s boyfriend, David Puddy, who appeared on the sitcom Seinfeld from 1995 to 1998. Since then, Warburton has starred in television shows including The Tick and Rules of Engagement, while lending his distinctive voice to animated films such as The Emperor’s New Groove and Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Patrick currently can be heard as a character on Fox’s hit show, Family Guy.
The National spots will roll out this month on broadcast and cable television, including NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcasts, and will also be supported by targeted online and mobile video networks. A preview of the ad is available on the National YouTube channel. Additionally, National will feature a series of digital videos across its social media channels called “A Control Enthusiast’s Guide to Life,” in which Warburton will share tips on how true “control enthusiasts” handle everyday situations.
Originally launched in January 2011, National’s “Go Like A Pro” advertising campaign promotes the brand’s expertise in helpingroad warriors efficiently navigate their frequent travels. The creative for the campaign was developed by Cannonball Advertising and the advertisements were placed by PHD.
National – which launched the car rental industry’s first comprehensive frequent-renter program – expedites the rental process for Emerald Club members by offering counter bypass as well as access to National’s “Emerald Aisle,” an exclusive section of the lot where members can select any vehicle as long as they reserve a mid-sized car. In addition, Emerald Club members can choose to receive EmeraldAlertsSM – emailed communications that include Arrival and Return Alerts, and Drop & GoSM service with convenient eReceipts.
