He brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at global hospitality giants like Marriott, Hyatt, and Accor. Chopra, a seasoned hospitality professional with over 26 years of experience, will lead the group’s commercial efforts in India, focusing on revenue growth, fostering client relationships, and enhancing customer satisfaction. He will report to Vijay Krishnan, Vice President of Operations, India, and Richard Beh, Vice President of Commercial, Asia.

Chopra’s career includes key roles at leading global hospitality brands such as Marriott, Hyatt, and Accor. He most recently served as Director of National Sales for India & South Asia at Accor, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s growth across the region. Commenting on his new role, Chopra expressed his enthusiasm for joining Minor Hotels at a critical point in its growth journey and looks forward to driving success in the Indian market.

Puneet Dhawan, Head of Asia at Minor Hotels, welcomed Chopra, praising his extensive expertise in sales, marketing, and strategy, alongside his deep understanding of the Indian hospitality landscape. Dhawan emphasized that Chopra’s leadership will be instrumental in achieving Minor Hotels’ ambitious expansion goals in India.

Minor Hotels is targeting 50 new hotel openings in India within the next decade, with a focus on the luxury and upper-upscale segments, including brands like Anantara, Avani, and NH Collection. The group is set to open its second property in India, the Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Hotel, later this year, underscoring its commitment to growing its footprint in the country.

Chopra holds a Bachelor’s in Commerce from DAV College Amritsar and a Master’s in Tourism Management from the Institute of Management Studies (IMS) Ghaziabad.
