Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) staff and contractors restored service to Terminal A after water line rupture

UPDATE No. 4 @ 5:30 a.m. – Final Update

San Jose, CA, USA, 2013-12-17 — /travelprnews.com/ — Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) staff and contractors worked around the clock to restore service to Terminal A after a water line rupture affected areas of the terminal on Dec. 16, 2013. Passenger operations have fully resumed in Terminal A in time for early morning flight operations.

Airport and Transportation Security Administration staff worked together to open four of eight security checkpoint screening lanes in Terminal A. Crews will continue to work to open all lanes as conditions permit.

All passengers should plan to arrive 90 minutes early for domestic flights and two hours before Hawaii and international departures.

Terminal A security screening, baggage claim and other affected areas were closed yesterday in the early-morning hours due to a ruptured water line in the pedestrian bridge. Information suggests that a failed joint was the cause of the water line rupture.

There were a few cancellations and several flight delays yesterday due to the rupture, and some passengers were delayed as airport staff implemented procedures to handle the incident while maintaining airport operations.

SJC staff regrets any inconvenience to customers affected by the partial closure of Terminal A yesterday.

This is the final written update that will be provided regarding the impacts to SJC and Terminal A yesterday.
