This 58-page report, which aligns with industry reporting standards, replaces the previous Corporate Social Responsibility report and provides comprehensive insights into the Authority’s 2023 achievements.

  • Recycling Efforts: Recycled over 4 tons of electronics, 31 tons of paper, and 440 pounds of toner.
  • Waste Reduction: Installed 12 mobile liquid collection stations at security checkpoints to reduce municipal solid waste and disposal costs.
  • Sustainable Mobility: Supported over 4,000 Capital Bikeshare riders at Reagan National Airport and over 1 million riders at the Dulles International Airport Metro station on the Silver Line.
  • Solar Energy Initiative: Commenced construction on an 800-acre, 100-megawatt solar facility at Dulles, expected to be completed by 2026.

Social Contributions:

  • Sunflower Lanyard Program: Launched a program to discreetly assist passengers with hidden disabilities, distributing over 1,183 lanyards.
  • Community Donations: Donated over 7,500 items, including 20 vehicles, to local schools, shelters, and charities.
  • Community Engagement: Hosted 10 events such as Earth Day clean-ups, Dulles Day benefiting Special Olympics Virginia, and a student backpack drive.
  • Workforce Development: Organized expos at Reagan National and Dulles International Airports, introducing over 400 local students to airport careers.

  • Financial Stability: Achieved a debt service coverage ratio of 2.77x, more than double the minimum requirement.
