LOS ANGELES, 2012-09-06 — /travelprnews.com/ — Due to rail signal upgrades planned on Sept. 8, Metrolink’s Orange County Line trains will not stop at Anaheim and will be rerouted causing up to 45 minute delays to all 600 series trains. Service will be restored on Sunday.
Buses will be available at the Anaheim station to provide alternative transportation to and from the Fullerton and/or Orange stations. Passengers may also choose to drive to either of the stations to board trains. Notices are being posted at the Anaheim stations to inform passengers of their options.
This upgrade is part of the Metrolink Service Expansion Program (MSEP), which is a multi-project effort to create and rehabilitate transportation facilities and crossings in Orange County.
While the station is closed, Metrolink will cut over to a new control point and change out signals to provide more operational flexibility for rail traffic through the area. The MSEP provided four additional weekday trips between Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo and Fullerton beginning July 2. The investment also added four new weekend trips between LA Union Station and Oceanside.
