Metrolink and Orange County Transportation Authority partner to offer OC Fair Express for those attending the 125th edition of the OC Fair

With valid Metrolink tickets and passes, people ride the OC Fair Express for free!

LOS ANGELES, 2015-7-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Metrolink and the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) have teamed up to offer the OC Fair Express for those heading to the 125th edition of the OC Fair. Passengers along Metrolink’s Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines can transfer for free to the special round-trip OC Fair Express direct bus service from the Anaheim Canyon, Santa Ana, Irvine, and Anaheim-ARTIC stations.

“The OC Fair has historically been an outstanding event, but parking and traffic can be an issue,” said Chair of the Metrolink Board of Directors Shawn Nelson, who is also an Orange County supervisor. “I’m excited to see Metrolink and OCTA working collaboratively to give Southern California residents an option to avoid sitting in traffic and instead aiding the efforts to reduce congestion by taking the OC Fair Express.”

The OC Fair will be held July 17 through August 16 in Costa Mesa. In addition to the four Metrolink stations, the OC Fair Express also connects to the Fullerton Park and Ride, Goldenwest Transportation Center in Huntington Beach, the Laguna Hills Transportation Center, the Village at Orange, and the Junipero Serra Park and Ride in San Juan Capistrano. The OC Fair Express will drop off and pick up passengers at the Yellow Gate.

Metrolink riders who take the OC Fair Express will receive a coupon good for a $3 admission to the OC Fair. Those customers will save $9 on adult admission, $4 on senior admission and $4 on youth admission when using a coupon.

The OC Fair Express will run Fridays during the OC Fair from noon until midnight, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until midnight. Visit metrolinktrains.com or call 800-371-5465 (LINK) for train schedules.
