Bethesda, Md., 2016-Feb-19 — /Travel PR News/ — Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) was named to Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in Travel for 2016.  The list honors leading enterprises and rising newcomers that exemplify the best in nimble business and impactful innovation.  Marriott ranked #8 among the top 10 companies in travel for using short films to market our hotels.  Marriott Hotels recent short films include Two Bellmen and French Kiss.

“This is a great recognition and marks the first time Marriott has been recognized by Fast Company,” says Arne Sorenson, president and CEO, Marriott International. “Innovation has always been part of the Marriott story. This recognition is a testament to our on-going efforts to share ideas openly, experiment with new concepts, and have the courage to take risks and go after the next big idea.”

Over the last several years Marriott has launched several new ideas to help put the company at the forefront of travel.  Marriott leads the conversation around travel with the Content Studio. To attract a next generation of travelers, the company launched new and relevant brands like Moxy Hotels.  To connect with guests instantly and everywhere, Marriott adopted new technology including Alipay, Apple Pay, Mobile check-in and Mobile request.  While technology is a critical part of consumer expectations, Marriott saw opportunities to delight guests with Canvas, a co-creation food and beverage platform. The company is meeting customer needs with Meetings Imagined to reinvent how meetings are planned, making them more visual, social and purposeful.
