2012-09-27 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities launched the Bridges…from school to work® program more than 20 years ago to reduce the career gap for youth ages 17-22 with mental, physical and cognitive disabilities. Since 1990, more than 950 local employers have provided employment opportunities for more than 2,400 youth, helping these young people with disabilities succeed in the workplace.  Recently, the program honored Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County, Md. employers, supporters and program participants.  Pictured L to R:  Troy Robinson of Cosi, which was presented the Employer of the Year Award; Richard Marriott, Chairman of the Marriott Foundation Board of Trustees; Tam Le, who was honored with the Youth Achievement Award; and John McIlveen, who was honored with the Leadership Award that recognizes an individual for exceptional commitment to advancing Bridges within the workplace.
