Manchester, UK, 2022-Feb-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park is taking its guests closer to the skies than ever before with a new state of the art flight simulator.
The revolutionary two-person machine has been installed in partnership with Sussex-based Metropolis Entertainment. It is fully interactive and can perform 360-degree motion over both vertical and horizontal axes, providing the most realistic flying experience imaginable.
Riders in the simulator are enclosed in a full safety harness and have complete joystick control including the ability to fly inverted in a P-38 Lightning fighter aircraft.
The new attraction costs just £6 per person and is now available to book via the Runway Visitor Park’s website or at the park’s reception desk.
It complements a range of existing attractions at the Runway Visitor Park, which is free to enter. The park is host to a number of retired aircraft including the iconic Concorde, of which visitors can book tours, and also offers a shop, café, children’s play area and an observation deck with unparalleled airfield views.
Robert Hassard, Runway Visitor Park Manager, said: “The Runway Visitor Park is already one of the most popular family visitor attractions in the North West, and this adds another string to its bow.
“For many years, guests have been able to see aircraft such as the Airbus A380 at close quarters and tour retired aircraft, but this is our most immersive visitor experience yet and we hope it will really capture the imaginations of our guests.”
Metropolis Entertainment is a European agent for the Fly360 simulators and is an established market leader in the development of simulation-based attractions for the museums and visitor centre markets. The company specialises in the creation of joint venture partnership as well as the dedicated production of high-quality, action-based content related predominantly to flying and automotive subject matter.
Ghislaine Walls, Metropolis’ operations director, said: “I am delighted with this new partnership with RVP. The Fly 360° simulator is absolutely unique providing visitors with a truly dynamic flying experience. This installation is one of only three in the UK…the other two being in the London Science Museum.”
Guests can book tours and experiences online via the Runway Visitor Park’s website, including the new flight simulator, and are encouraged to visit the What’s On page for guidelines, terms, and conditions before booking.
