2012-07-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — Philippe FRANCOIS, President of the World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training (AMFORHT), has met, Marcio FAVILLA, Executive Director and Javier BLANCO, Director of Affiliate Members of the World Tourism Organization, in Madrid, on Monday July 2. The core of the discussion was: put the MAN at the centre of the tourism activity.
After his election as President of the association- which currently counts more than 250 international members such as schools, universities, hotel groups and personalities in the field of training- Philippe FRANCOIS stated that AMFORHT doesn’t limit its action and influence within the training sector. “Our goal now is to bring together key actors from the hotel industry and tourism to provide practical solutions for the best fulfilment of man in his profession throughout his life,” said Philippe FRANCOIS. AMFORHT remains the privileged interface between professionals and institutions to revitalize the hotel schools and universities of the world, but beyond, AMFORHT also develops a network for reflection and proposals on employment, training, working conditions, sustainable development and employability of disabled people in tourism, for example.
With this new vision and ambition, Philippe FRANCOIS met yesterday Marcio FAVILLA and Javier BLANCO from World Tourism Organization. Marcio FAVILLA said firstly that he was open to this new reflection, based on the Code of Ethics for Tourism by the WTO together with AMFORHT and, secondly, he underlined the need for international tandardization of educational policy for trainingcentres.
