Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2022-May-26 — /Travel PR News/ — Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) has signed a three-year agreement with Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) to provide hajj charter flights for Malaysian pilgrims. The charter flight service will be managed by umrah and hajj flight provider, AMAL by Malaysia Airlines (AMAL).

The signing ceremony was held at MAB Academy in Kelana Jaya and was signed by the Executive Director of Hajj for TH, Dato’ Sri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman, while AMAL was represented by its Chief Operating Officer, Muhammad Najmi Mansor. The signing was witnessed by Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TH, Dato’ Sri Amrin Awaluddin and Group Chief Executive Officer of MAB, Captain Izham Ismail.

Dato’ Sri Amrin Awaluddin said AMAL’s excellent track record of having extensive experience in operating hajj charter flights has been a key factor in MAB’s selection as the hajj charter flight provider for the next three (3) years from 2022 to 2024.

“We are confident that the commitment, experience, expertise and cooperation at all levels can provide excellent services and hospitality to prospective pilgrims. The quality of service provided by AMAL previously has received praise from the pilgrims,” he added.

“TH is the only government body that provides various facilities comprehensively and systematically for the comfort and welfare of Malaysian hajj pilgrims,” explained Dato’ Sri Amrin.

Meanwhile, Captain Izham said, AMAL by Malaysia Airlines remains committed in providing a safe and seamless travel experience to ensure that the pilgrims can perform their religious obligations smoothly.

“Around 50 percent of Malaysian pilgrims will be flown directly by AMAL in stages from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah and to Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Madinah International Airport,” he said.

“AMAL will use the A330-300 aircraft with seating capacity of 284 seats to ensure we provide a comfortable and great travel experience for the pilgrims. This includes the availability of services such as talbiah, doa musafir, azan and tazkirah, as well as miqat announcements as soon as passengers board the aircraft,” he added.

A total of 14,306 Malaysian pilgrims will perform the fifth pillar of Islam this year and AMAL will commence its first hajj charter service on 6 June 2022.
