Lufthansa Group Enhances Baggage Tracking with Apple AirTag Integration for Improved Customer Experience

This allows passengers to securely share the location of their AirTag or Find My network accessory via familiar digital channels, improving baggage tracking efficiency. The initiative is part of the group’s ongoing efforts to enhance the customer journey through digital innovations. Lufthansa’s Digital Hangar, a team of 1,000 experts, is driving these efforts to offer more transparency and faster solutions in case of irregularities.

(PRESS RELEASE) Cologne, Germany, 2025-Feb-5 — /Travel PR News/ — Lufthansa Group airlines, which include Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, have rolled out a new service that enhances the passenger experience by incorporating Apple’s AirTag tracking feature into their baggage tracing system. Effective immediately, travelers can now privately and securely share the location of their AirTag or Find My network accessory through the familiar baggage tracing channels. This integration allows the airlines to incorporate real-time tracking data into their systems, providing a seamless and more efficient baggage tracking service.

Dieter Vranckx, Member of the Executive Board and Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Group, highlighted the role of the group’s digital division, “Digital Hangar,” in continuously improving customer services. “Our digital products team, with around 1,000 experts, is committed to introducing new digital services and enhancing the journey for our customers every month. The addition of Apple AirTag data to our baggage tracking system is just one of the many innovations we’re rolling out.”
