Lufthansa Group announces management changes in Munich

  • Markus Binkert will become new Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa at the Munich hub and will be responsible for Lufthansa Group Marketing
  • Steffen Harbarth will become new Member of the Management Board of Lufthansa CityLine
  • Jörg Eberhart, President and CEO of Air Dolomiti, will intensify his activities in the strategically important Italian market

COLOGNE, Germany, 2018-Nov-20 — /Travel PR News/ — Markus Binkert, currently Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of SWISS, will become CCO of the Lufthansa hub in Munich with effect from 1 January 2019. In his new role, he will also be responsible for the Lufthansa Group’s overall marketing processes. In his current position as CCO of SWISS, Binkert is already responsible for the Lufthansa Group’s revenue management and distribution processes in a dual capacity. Since 2005, Markus Binkert has held various top management positions in product, marketing and sales. He was appointed CCO of SWISS in 2013. Markus Binkert succeeds Steffen Harbarth in Munich.

Steffen Harbarth will become a new member of the Management Board of Lufthansa CityLine on 1 January 2019. He will be responsible for the operational division of the Lufthansa subsidiary, which has been operating for a significant part of the feeder traffic at the hubs of Munich and Frankfurt for many years. Steffen Harbarth currently holds the commercial management and process responsibility for the Lufthansa Group’s marketing at the Lufthansa hub in Munich, where he is also responsible for the further development of the Lufthansa brand at the beginning of this year. Previously, Steffen Harbarth was Area Manager of Lufthansa Group Airlines in the Asia Pacific traffic region.

Steffen Harbarth succeeds Jörg Eberhart.  In his role as President and CEO of Air Dolomiti Eberhart will be even more intensively driving future projects in the strategically important Italian market in the future.
